Bangalore Is Hosting ‘Aero India’ (The Military Aviation Show) For The Next Four Days

The 11th Edition of Aero India kicked off yesterday, at Air Force Station, Yelahanka, Bengaluru. The military aviation show lasts for a total of 5 days, and will wrap up on 18 February. After their first show in 1996, each year has been more successful than the last, boasting of exhibitors from over 600 companies, from 33 countries. Overseas delegations also attend the show, as the event is a platform for business opportunities within the aviation sector. The general public will only have access to the Air Display Viewing Area, from 9am to 5pm, at Rs. 600 for a ticket.

This year, Aero India has outdone every prior edition, with their turnout. 750 Global and Indian companies, 150,000 business visitors and 300,000 general visitors are just some of the numbers the event is seeing. Targeted at improving the aerospace and defence industry, the show will be welcoming Official Delegations from 109 countries. Besides an aerial show, there will also be seminars, conferences, and business to business meetings.

The Bangalore Mirror mentioned that this edition of the aviation show is the first edition in which China will be participating, since its inception in 1996, with a confirmed team of five members. Although they will not be displaying anything at the event, the delegation is looked at as one of the first few steps towards a more peaceful relationship between India and China.
